My wonderful friend hosted a holiday party last weekend in Boston. I helped her prep for the party, and my task was to make a Peppermint Oreo Trifle. Above is a photo of the end product, which was really good and a big hit at the party.
Holiday Peppermint Oreo Trifle Recipe
2-3 packages of chocolate pudding
2 containers of cool whip
1 package of Oreos
12 Candy Canes
1. Crush the Oreos and candy canes (separately). I found it easiest to put them in large plastic bags and use a combination of my hands and a rolling pin to crush them into small pieces.
2. Make the pudding following the directions on the package.
3. Put 1/3 of the chocolate pudding in the trifle bowl as the first layer, 1/3 of the crushed Oreos as the second layer, 1/3 of the cool whip for the third layer and 1/3 of the crushed candy canes for the fourth layer.
5. Repeat those steps twice, so you have a total of 12 layers (3 layers of each ingredient).
Note: Try not to smear the ingredients on the inner sides of the bowl as you are making the trifle so that the layers look pretty :)
